Dave is a setter who has only just joined the club from UEA Volleyball Club who he still plays for. Now a PGCE student in his last year at uni, he decided to take up the offer of setting for Stowmarket in NVLdiv3.

Dave has been around volleyball all of his life, watching his dad play national league volleyball when he was young. He played numerous junior tournaments but only started taking the sport seriously at 13 when he began to train and play with South West Division 1 mens team Priory. Shortly after Dave was selected for the South West U15 boys team with who he played for 2 years winning the national interegional tournament once, he then moved up to U17 for a further two years winning the tournament once again.

His junior club team was very succesful reaching the u16 national semi final in 2002 and the u18 quater final in 2003, that same team also won the South West Mens League in only their second season competing in it.

Dave came to UEA in norwich with volleyball in mind, knowing coach Keith Nicholls from his time in Bristol, and immediately settled into the first team as setter, where he has remained for 3 years. Dave has also captained the team for 2 years taking them to 6th Place at the 2007 EVA student cup. He combined this role with the role of Club President and saw the club pick up UEA Sports Club of the Year 2007.

Now starting to think about moving on into the real world, is really excited about the prospect of setting for stowmarket and seeing what they can achieve this season.
